PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device having a configuration able to prevent degradation in glossiness resulting from degradation in peeling performance and degradation in fixability in the case of using a pressure roller having a drum shape.SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises a flexible, endless fixing member 21; a pressure member 31 arranged opposite the fixing member 21 and having a drum shape in its axial direction; and a nip formation member 26 arranged on the inner circumferential side of the fixing member 21, disposed in pressure contact with the pressure member 31 via the fixing member 21, and forming a fixing nip part for fixing an unfixed image to a recording medium by use of the fixing member 21 and pressure member 31.In the fixing device, the nip formation member 26 is provided with: a fixing nip introduction part 26c disposed from the upstream side to the downstream side along the conveyance direction of the recording medium; an arc-shaped part 26b formed from a recessed part corresponding to a surface shape of the pressure member 31; and a projecting part 26a projecting in the direction of the pressure member 31 without being in contact with the pressure member 31. The projection part 26a has a dimension corresponding to an amount of protrusion equivalent to an amount of pre-deformation from the outer shape of the pressure member 31 and has a recessed form in its longitudinal middle. |
