PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of restraining growth of separation at a belt edge part. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire is constituted by forming a plurality of strip pieces 13 by cutting a rubber strip 11 buried so that a plurality of reinforcing elements 12 are arranged in the longitudinal direction in a regular size at an optional angleα, constituting a belt member 14 by adhering the strip pieces 13 on each other so as to make side parts of them contact with each other while inclining the strip pieces at a constant angleβagainst the tire peripheral direction C and burying the belt member 14 in a tread part as a belt layer, and a triangular area surrounded by a top point 13a made of a corner positioned on the outside in the tire cross direction out of a pair of the corners formed on each of cutting ends of each of the strip pieces 13, a top point 13b made of the corner position on the inside in the tire cross direction out of a pair of the corners, a straight line L1 in parallel against the tire peripheral direction C through the top point 13a and a top point 13c made of an intersection with a straight line L2 in parallel against the longitudinal direction of the strip pieces 13 through the top point 13b is made 4% to 15% of the area of each of the strip pieces 13.
