PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter and the like capable of notifying SN (sequential number) to an opposite unit without changing byte length.SOLUTION: A first transmitter transmits a signal to a third transmitter by using a working line and a spare line. The first transmitter has a CRC generation section and an SN adder. The CRC generation section calculates a CRC value of the signal. The SN adder stores an FCS calculation value as the CRC value added with SN which represents the continuity of signal and stores the same in an FCS byte region in the signal. The first transmitter outputs the signal which stores the FCS calculation value to the second transmitter using the working line and the spare line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
