A light emitting display panel comprises a flexible laminated structure with a flexible base layer 102, a first electrode 104, a patterned insulating layer 109, an electroluminescent layer 105, a second electrode 106, and a flexible sealing layer 108. Optional barrier layers 103, 107 may also be provided. The patterned insulator 109 defines a character or symbol for display, while the flexible sealing layer protects the display from moisture. The whole display panel is flexible and has a thickness between 50 and 400žm. The sealing layer, the base layer and at least one electrode are transparent so that the user can see the light emitted by the electroluminescent layer. The base layer and first electrode have the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the second electrode and sealing layer. The panel may be manufactured in a wet process. |
