PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the printing quality of barcodes even in the printing demand other than a specified drawing direction. SOLUTION: A printing data receiving section 102 receives printing data including discriminating code drawing commands, a barcode setting command detecting section 105 detects that the printing data include the discriminating code drawing commands, a barcode drawing command detecting section 106 detects the drawing direction of the discriminating codes, and a sheet running direction selecting section 111 preferentially selects either of a first media storing section and a second media storing section based on the drawing direction of the discriminating codes.
