PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the moisture resistance of a mold so as not to lower a mold strength even under any condition of high temperature and high humidity, etc. SOLUTION: A composition for manufacturing the mold excellent in the moisture resistance and a method for manufacturing the mold for casting, are completed by finding that the mold excellent in the moisture resistance can be manufactured by using the composition for manufacturing the mold adjusting metallic oxide content in a silica as the molding sand.
