A content handling system (1) for handling video content to be delivered over the public Internet is described. The content handling system (1) comprises a set of content handling modules (100, 110, 120) for use in the delivery of content. Content handling modules (100, 110, 120) utilise computer resources allocated by one or more distributed computing resource providers. The content handling system (1) also comprises a management module that has a monitoring module (21) and a provisioning module (22). The monitoring module (21) is arranged to monitor the utilisation of allocated computer resources from the one or more distributed computing resource providers. The provisioning module (22) is arranged to dynamically control the provisioning of computer resources from the one or more distributed computing resource providers in response to the monitored utilisation of those computer resources, so as to control dynamically the size of the set of content handling modules (100, 110, 120). |
