PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof card reader configured to prevent liquid from being frozen in a card housing section where the card is housed, even when used in a place at a lower temperature.SOLUTION: A card reader 1 includes a front frame 5 with a slot 4 for a card, a body frame 6 fixed to the front frame 5, and a heating mechanism 9 for heating the body frame 6. The body frame 6 includes a bag-like card housing section 12 for housing a back part of the card, and a partition wall section 13 formed in the shape of a flange, to lead to a front end of the card housing section 12. Between the front frame 5 and the partition wall section 13, an annular seal member is arranged to externally surround a card passage. The heating mechanism 9 includes: a heat transfer member 24 having two contact sections 24a, 24b coming into contact with the card housing section 12 externally from both sides in a thickness direction of the card, and formed of a heat-conductive material; and a heater 25 to be fixed to the heat transfer member 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
