PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and inexpensively performing biological processing to a carbohydrate-containing material (e.g., biomass material, biomass induction material or chitin), particularly cellulose material and lignocellulose material, and a carbon-containing material such as saccharified carbohydrate-containing material.SOLUTION: A method for biological processing of a carbon-containing material includes: providing a carbon source, microorganisms, a nutrient package which is separated and delivered from a carbon source including 0.1 to 80 g/L of concentration of a food-based nutrient source, and a mixture including one or a plurality of enzyme systems which is selected so as to release nutrients from a food-based nutrient source into a bioreactor; and maintaining the bioreactor under a condition which is effective for microorganisms to perform biological processing to the carbon source. In the method, the food-based nutrient source is selected from cereal, vegetable, cereal residue, vegetable residue, residue of processed meat or a mixture thereof, and a product includes fuel selected from hydrogen, alcohol, organic acid, hydrocarbon, or a mixture thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
