[Problem] To provide a pedestrian terminal device enabling pedestrian terminal device power consumption to be reduced. [Solution] A pedestrian terminal device 2 carried by a pedestrian 1 includes an operation mode selection unit 25b that selects either one of the following: a representative terminal operation mode in which pedestrian-and-vehicle reciprocal communication is carried out between the pedestrian terminal device 2 which represents another pedestrian terminal device 2 and an on-board terminal device 4; or an inter-group terminal operation mode in which short-distance wireless communication which is low power and which is shorter distance than the pedestrian-and-vehicle reciprocal communication is performed with the pedestrian terminal device 2 which is operated in the representative terminal operation mode. Using the short-distance wireless communication which is low power and which is shorter distance than the pedestrian-and-vehicle reciprocal communication, the pedestrian terminal device 2 selected in the representative terminal operation mode carries out communication with the pedestrian terminal device 2 operated in the inter-group terminal operation mode, and as a result thereof, reduced power consumption is achieved for the pedestrian terminal device of the representative terminal operation. |
