PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various fault information to a general consumer by a small-sized display means, intelligibly without raising cost greatly.

SOLUTION: A fault information output device 100 has a fault detection means 101 for detecting a fault of an object device, a storage means 105 for storing abnormality information of the device, a retrieval means 106 for retrieving the fault information corresponding to a fault detected by the fault detection means 101 from the storage means 105, a message generation means 102 for generating a message from the fault information retrieved by the retrieval means 106, and a two-dimensional code generation means 103 for generating a two-dimensional code by converting a message generated by the message generation means 102. The two-dimensional code generated by the two-dimensional code generation means 103 is displayed on a prescribed display means 104.
