<p>The method involves detecting contour of an axial gear tooth (2) to be measured by using a sensor and recording flank signals representing the contour of the tooth. An integral of the flank signals is computed over tooth periods, where each tooth period is determined by the contour characteristics over a tooth (4) and a tooth depth (6). The computed integral of the flank signals is compared with threshold values, and a quality signal is generated. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for measurement of an axial gear tooth at a workpiece.</p> |
