PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program reservation device and a program reservation method, capable of letting a receiving device, which performs program reservation/registration using an electronic mail, reserve a program using an electronic mail function from an information terminal with a simple operation by a user, for convenient handling to a user. SOLUTION: The program reservation device includes acquiring means (44 and 50) for acquiring program information, program guide generating means (63) which generates an electronic program guide based on the acquired program information, display means (14) for displaying a generated electronic program guide on a screen, selecting means (17 and 63) for selecting and determining a wanted program out of the displayed electronic program guide, mail generating means (63e) which generates a mail document for program reservation for reserving a program using an electronic mail for the selected and determined program, and transmission means (72 and 73) for transmitting the generated mail document for program reservation to the outside.
