PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start/stop circuit that can start and stop every drive of an electric motor and an engine with a common switch. SOLUTION: In a machine that can be driven by an electric motor and an engine, relay circuits are provided between an AC power supply 11 and a start/ stop circuit 33 of the electric motor, and between a buttery 41 and start/stop circuits 49, 54 of the engine. The relay circuits and a power selection switch 56 are used to select either of two connections between the AC power supply 11 and the circuit 33 of the electric motor or between a DC power supply 41 and the start/stop circuits 49, 54 of the engine. The selected power 11 or 41 is supplied to and cut off from the start/stop circuit 33 or the start/stop circuits 49, 54, thus starting or stopping either of the electric motor or the engine.
