A thermoplastic layer (3) in a non-woven bonded fiber fabric material (NWBFFM) is produced in a spun-laid process and mechanically compacted by calendaring/thermal welding. The NWBFFM consists of polyester/polypropylene fibers, which bond well to thermoplastics, e.g. thermoplastic elastomers, vulcanized materials, olefins and polyurethanes, as well as rubber and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber.
