摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which has a plurality of heating elements and a cooling mechanism therefor, and which rapidly and appropriately controls cooling capacity distribution according to the heating situations of respective heating elements. <P>SOLUTION: A disk array device 1 is provided with: a plurality of HDD units 3 each having a hard disk drive (HDD) 4 as the heating element; a ventilation mechanism 6 for cooling the HDD 4 by ventilation; and air quantity regulating mechanisms 5 for regulating the flow rate of air for cooling the respective HDDs 4. If the HDD 4 is at a low temperature, the air quantity regulating mechanism 5 takes such a shape as to close the channel of air, and if the HDD 4 is at a high temperature, its heat is directly conducted to the air quantity regulating mechanism 5 via a conductor, and the air quantity regulating mechanism 5 is deformed so as to open the channel of air by the heat.
