<p>The chuck comprises a cylindrical body member (16). The body member has a forward section (20) and a rearward section (22). The rearward section has an axial bore (26) formed in it to mate with the drive shaft of the driver. A cylindrical sleeve is received over the forward section of the body. A primary retaining mechanism (46,54) is in engagement with the sleeve and the body member to operatively prevent forward axial movement of the sleeve with respect to the body. A secondary retaining mechanism (60) is attached to the sleeve so that if the primary retaining mechanism fails to prevent forward axial movement of the sleeve with respect to the body, the secondary retaining mechanism is brought to engagement with the body to prevent forward axial movement of the sleeve with respect to the body following the engagement. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# For use with drills or with electric or pneumatic power drivers. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# May be tightened or loosened by hand or by actuation of driver motor.</p> |
