A welding helmet (100) with a removable cartridge (130) is disclosed. The welding helmet comprises a helmet body (110) for covering the face of an operator, an opening (112) formed in a front surface of the helmet body, a cartridge (130) fitted to the opening for protecting the eyes of the operator from light generated during a welding operation, and a structure for removaly engaging the cartridge to the helmet body. The removable structure includes hooks (114) projected from an upper side of the opening in the helmet body, pressing projections (116) projected from both sides of the opening in the helmet body, respectively, hooking projections (113) projected from an upper side of the cartridge to engage with the hooks, and fitting projections (135) from both sides of the cartridge to fit to the pressing projections, respectively. From the above constitution, fumes generated upon welding or cutting are prevented from directly flowing into the helmet body.
