PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for checking the state of a field of a wider range than a photographing optical system while keeping an eye on an optical finder. SOLUTION: A camera is provided with a first imaging part for photographing recording images, a finder optical system, a second imaging part, a display part, an operation part, and a control part. The finder optical system has an eyepiece for observing optical images of an object by a light flux from a photographing optical path of the first imaging part. The second imaging part photographs a view field checking image from an optical path different from the first imaging part. The display part presents the view field checking image on the eyepiece. The operation part receives display operation finding the display of the view field checking image from a user. The control part switches a first state presenting optical images on the eyepiece and a second state presenting the view field checking image on the eyepiece based on operation of the operation part.
