<p>A method for correcting image dimensional changes in flexographic printing plates is provided. The method includes obtaining and analyzing data for a particular plate pertaining to the changes in linear image size between digital images and the images reproduced in a photomask, and the changes between photomask images and plate images following exposure and processing of the plate. The method provides for compensating for linear dimensional changes, such that image modification due to various printing processes sum to zero. The invention also addresses changes that are relevant to halftone production, and provides a method, apparatus and computer program to correct for image sharpening of printing plates.</p> |
