The technoscope has a shaft (12) fitted at its distal end with a pivoted arm (14) carrying a measuring device (20), coupled via a measuring line leading from the proximal end of the arm to an external control and display device (38). The pivoted arm is moved from a position in which it lies in the longitudinal direction of the shaft and a position in which it extends at an angle to the shaft.
