<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a biodegradable, hence environment-friendly polymer film from a molten polymer preparation, and the polymer preparation for manufacturing such a film. <P>SOLUTION: An extruded film or extruded coating is manufactured by applying polyhydroxy alkanoate (PHA) to a surface which is in a temperature ranging between 20°C higher and 20°C lower than the optimal crystallization temperature of PHA.
