The invention relates to a damping assembly for a pivotable flap or a pivotable cover of a motor vehicle, comprising at least one hinge (1) having a hinge arm (2) which is securely connected at one end to the flap or the cover, and which is pivotally mounted on a bearing block (3) at the other end, wherein a damping body (8) made of an elastomer is arranged on the bearing block (3), bordering the pivoting region of the hinge arm (2) and absorbing impact forces, wherein the damping body (8) is formed by a profile, which is open when viewed in cross section, having a profile web (8a) and two profile flanges (8b, 8c), wherein a hollow chamber is formed between the profile flanges (8b, 8c), said hollow chamber (16) having an inlet opening (17) for the temporary accommodation of the hinge arm (2), and wherein the damping body (8) forms a bump stop (18, 18') on the profile web side.
