PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely and certainly producing a highly safe peracetic acid solution of relatively high concentration throughout the reaction process from the beginning to the end. SOLUTION: The method for producing a peracetic acid solution from acetic anhydride and an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide comprises a step of dropping acetic anhydride into an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide diluted with acetic acid to cause them to react with each other, whereby a highly safe peracetic acid solution of a relatively high concentration can be safely and certainly produced thanks to it that the dangerous range of the composition of the reaction mass can be avoided throughout the reaction process from the beginning to the end.
