PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure of a segment structure which can be easily fabricated and can effectively inhibit movement of honeycomb segments due to vibration or exhaust pressure during use.SOLUTION: In a first honeycomb segment 2a, an inlet end face and an outlet end face are square, and at least one pair of side faces of two pairs of side faces, where each pair of side faces face each other, are concave side faces 6 bent into a concave state in the longitudinal direction of the honeycomb segment. In a second honeycomb segment 2b, an inlet end face and an outlet end face are square, and at least one pair of side faces of two pairs of side faces, where each pair of side faces face each other, are convex side faces 7 bent into a convex state in the longitudinal direction of the honeycomb segment. The first honeycomb segments and second honeycomb segments are alternately arranged so that the concave side faces 6 face the convex side faces 7 in at least one direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the honeycomb segments.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
