摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform pixel separation with high precision and to greatly reduce bit rate errors, and then to process a large amount of information fast. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a magneto-optical space light modulator which has many pixels 14 imparting rotation in a polarizing direction by Faraday effect, arrayed in two dimensions of an X direction and a Y direction while alienated from one another and which individually controls magnetization directions of the respective pixels with a composite magnetic field produced with drive currents flowing through X-side and Y-side driving lines. X-side driving lines 32 and Y-side driving lines 34 extend straight on peripheral edges of the pixels arrayed in the X direction and Y direction respectively and wired to enclose the respective pixels in a shape of two pairs of intersecting parallel lines, and magnetic fields produced by the X-side and Y-side driving lines enclosing a target pixel in the shape are in the same direction in the center of the target pixel.
