PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based pigment ink for ink-jet recording which inhibits the increase in viscosity and the solidification due to drying and hardly causes the delay in discharge.SOLUTION: A water-based ink for ink-jet recording includes: a pigment; water; polyoxypropylene methyl glucoside; and a compound represented by the formula (1).
