A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption of the LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) by precharging a data line twice by using a charge-share voltage and a precharge voltage higher than the charge-share voltage. A liquid crystal display includes first to third transistors and logic circuits(65,66,67). The first transistor(nT1) outputs a charge-share voltage to a data line in response to a first output control signal(SOE1). The second transistor(nT2) outputs a precharge voltage, which is higher than the charge-share voltage, to the data line in response to a second output control signal, which is higher than the first output control signal. The third transistor(nT3) outputs the data voltage to the data line in response to one of the first and second output control signals. The logic circuits control the transistors in response to a polarity control signal, which controls the polarity of the data signal and the output control signal.
