PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developing apparatus in which speed-up of a heat developing process is made possible and reduction of a size and cost is made possible as well while image quality equivalent to that of the conventional large-size machine is maintained. SOLUTION: The heat developing apparatus visualizes the latent image formed on a film by conveying a film coated with a heat developable photosensitive material on one face side of a support substrate while heating the film and is equipped with a first zone 50 constituted of fixed guides 51b, 52b having heaters, and counter rollers 51a, 52a for pressing the film to the fixed guides 51b, 52b, and a second zone 53 constituted of a fixed guide 53b having a heater and another guide 53a provided with a prescribed guide gap with respect to the fixed guide.
