PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microvoid inspection crawler 100, more specifically, as to a small robot device for carrying out field inspection for a generator field and a stator core. SOLUTION: This microvoid inspection crawler 100 may includes a substantially rigid rail 110, a cart 150 arranged on the rail 110, a driving system 180 for operating the cart 150 along the rail 110, and an inspection head 200 arranged on the cart 150. The rail 110 may have 5-6 millimeters of thickness and 25-76 millimeters of width. The driving system 180 may include a rail pulley wheel 130, arranged at the periphery of the rail 110.
