A method for turning on/off high-beam for a vehicle is provided to automatically turn on/off the high-beam by detecting a vehicle which is existed at an opposite lane or adjacent lane using an infrared camera. It is determined whether a high-beam is turned on in an auto mode(101). If the high-beam is turned on in the auto mode, an infrared detection camera is driven(102). It is determined whether an object is detected by the driven infrared detection camera(103). If the object is detected in the detection step, the high-beam is temporarily turned off(104).
