The method involves machining a front sides of a plate shaped work piece e.g. wooden plate (10), by a milling tool with a curve shaped cutting edge, such that the front side is line-by line pulled out from the tool with the cutting edge under formation of plane upper surface of the front side. The tool is provided in form of a spherical cutter. The plane upper surface of the front side is inclined in an exact angle to upper surface of the work piece in longitudinal or cross extension. An independent claim is also included for a machining device for implementing the method for machining a plate shaped work piece.
