PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collapsible lens barrel coping with a high magnification, which is improved in assemblability, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A widened part 19d whose width in an optical axis direction is made larger than other parts is provided in cam grooves 18a, 18b and 18c of a cam frame 17 so that the cam pins 16a, 16b and 16c of a driving frame 15 may not be engaged with the cam grooves 18a, 18b and 18c of the cam frame 17 when the collapsible lens barrel 1 is collapsed. In assembling the collapsible lens barrel 1, the cam pin 16a, 16b or 16c is moved to the widened part 19d so as to screw and fix the lens barrel 1, whereby the cam pins 16a, 16b and 16c and the cam grooves 18a, 18b and 18c are prevented from being damaged.
