PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection shaft which can be inserted in an excellent fitting state by eliminating a clearance in a circumferential direction of an insertion part, while reducing axial sliding resistance, against an insertion allowing part, of the insertion part inserted axially with respect to a connection mating shaft at a connection part with the connection mating shaft, thus allowing the connection shaft to slide smoothly, axially over long periods, and to provide a steering shaft constituted by the connection shaft and the connection mating shaft, and a manufacturing method for the connection shaft.SOLUTION: The connection shaft 10 is formed with an insertion part 11 that is inserted in a fitting state slidable axially with respect to the connection mating shaft 50, at a connection portion 80 when connected with the connection mating shaft 50 in series axially, and at a circumferential surface 11A of the insertion part 11, a through hole 13 is formed which penetrates in a thickness direction of the circumferential surface 11A. |
