PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely seal a gap between a suction port and a suction pipe without increasing pressure loss of suction gas and disturbing displacement of a compression mechanism and a motor. SOLUTION: In a compressor having the compression mechanism 20 and the motor 30 elastically supported in a hermetic vessel 10, the suction port 40 passing through a cylinder 23 in a radial direction is formed on the cylinder 23 of the compression mechanism 30, a joint member 43 of which tip surface faces circumference edge of the suction port 40 at an outer surface of the cylinder 23 and of which base end side the suction pipe 42 is attached to is provided on the hermetic vessel 10. The tip surface of the joint member 43 is a flat seal surface, a recess groove 23a is formed at a circumference edge part of the suction port 40 at the outer surface of the cylinder 23 and an O-ring 45 is fitted therein. The O-ring 45 is pressed against the tip surface of the joint member 43 to seal the gap between the cylinder 23 and the joint member 43. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
