CURTAIN COATING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain coating apparatus in which a good quality coated product is manufactured by removing air accompanying a web in high speed coating to stabilize a curtain film. SOLUTION: The curtain coating apparatus for applying a coating liquid on the continuously traveling web is provided with an air jet apparatus in the upstream side of the impact spot of the curtain film on the web, an air jetting pipe is provided in the jetting apparatus, a closed space is formed by a partition member surrounding the web and is provided with a width direction air suction apparatus and an end part side air suction apparatus to form a negative zone, a dry ice fume producing apparatus for producing dry ice fume in the vicinity of the curtain upstream is provided and an air suction pressure of the width direction air suction apparatus and the end part side air suction apparatus are controlled based on the information of the visualized flow of the dry ice fume.
