An object of the present invention is to provide a reflective metallic heat-insulator exhibiting optimum heat insulation performance with a reduced number of thin film layers stacked on each other. To accomplish the object, the present invention provides a reflective metallic heat-insulator in which a plurality of thin plate layers are stacked to reflect radiant heat and thus to block the transfer of heat. Each of the thin plate layers includes flat portions, concave portions, and convex portions, wherein the concave portions and convex portions are spaced from each other with the flat portion interposed between and arranged in an alternate fashion. When the thin plate layers are stacked, the bottom surfaces of the concave portions of the upper thin plate layer and the top surfaces the convex portions of the lower thin plate layers come into contact, thus forming void spaces between the upper and lower thin plates layers. |
