<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum control system for a needleless injector which is easy to use, relatively simple to implement, and comparatively cost effective. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention is a vacuum control and safety interlock system for a medicament injector with a vacuum pump and a firing cap 40 attached thereto. The firing cap is movable from an initial position to a depressed position, thereby injecting the medicament with the use of the injector. The system includes: a user-operable switch that is movable between an ON position and an OFF position; an electric means configured to activate the vacuum pump when the user-operable switch is in the ON position; and a means for locking the firing cap in the initial position when the user-operable switch is in the OFF position, and releasing the lock of the firing cap when the user-operable switch is in the ON position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
