Catalysts containing active elements deposited on alumina; the alumina contains at least 0.03 g of titanium (as metallic titanium, per kg of dry alumina). An independent claim is also included for the use of the catalyst in gaseous phase oxidation or oxychlorination of a hydrocarbon.
