<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine management system capable of normally and reliably performing a setting change in a vending machine and the collection of sales information, etc., without artificially selecting the vending machine for exchanging information with the use of a personal digital assistant. <P>SOLUTION: Identification information 141 for specifying the vending machine 100 is received from the vending machine 100 through the use of an IC chip 200 arranged in the personal digital assistant 300. Then, setting information 142 or sales information 143 corresponding to the identification information 141 is exchanged with the vending machine 100. Accordingly, there is no need to artificially specify the vending machine to be an object for the setting change or sales information collection, etc., so that the change of the setting and the collection of the sales information, etc., are performed without erroneously selecting the vending machine.
