<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft-like carrying member, namely, a carrying shaft having simple construction for carrying a clutch unit while avoiding the disassembly thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A collar 38 is provided on the outer diameter face of the shaft, and a shaft base portion 39 and a carrying shaft portion 41 are formed on one-end side and on the other-end side of the collar 38. The carrying shaft portion 41 has an outer diameter adapted to be fitted to the inner diameter faces of a clutch outer ring 1 of the clutch unit 32 and a cover member 4, and a thrust holding portion 42 to be thrust against the inner diameter face of the clutch outer ring 1 is provided on the carrying shaft portion 41.
