This invention relates to an identification tag (610) for fitting on to an electrical cable (2) to provide enhanced safety and also cable identification. The invention further relates to a method of identifying an electrical cable (2). An identification tag (610) comprises a collar portion (612) having a bore for receiving a part of the cable (2), the bore extending between first and second ends of the collar portion (612) and defining an axis of the collar portion (612); a tab portion (616) including identification means for identifying said cable (2); and a hinge portion (642) connecting the tab portion (616) to the collar portion (612), the hinge portion (642) being configured to permit movement of the tab portion (616) relative to the collar portion (612) between a first configuration in which the tab portion (616) extends from the collar portion (612) in a direction transverse to the axis and a second configuration in which the tab portion (616) extends from the collar portion (612) in a direction substantially parallel to the axis. |
