<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective circuit for an electric double-layer capacitor module which can cut off quickly the electric double-layer module including a defective cell even if a grounding failure and/or an open-circuit failure occur, can avoid a circuit failure of a system as a whole, and can avoid a burning failure and to more stably operate a charge/discharge device for an electric double-layer capacitor. SOLUTION: A current of a grounding terminal side of an electric double- layer capacitor module 1 is detected and, when an abnormal current is detected, the grounding terminal side of the electric double-layer capacitor module 1 is opened by a breaker 24 to cut off a grounding current loop. Or/and, Electric double-layer capacitor modules 1 and 10 are connected in parallel with each other, currents applied to the respective modules 1 and 10 at the time of charge or discharge are detected and compared with each other, the module with the significantly small current relatively is decided to have an open-circuit failure, and the module is cut off from a charge/discharge circuit system by the breaker 24 or a breaker 25.</p> |
