<p>Two plates have on their inside faces, in addition to the bearing surfaces for the sheet of glass, raised keys which are used to lock the two plates together using a bolt and double wedged nut. The two plates (1, 2) are identical and are arranged symmetrically. The keys (5, 6) face the bearing surfaces (3, 4) which hold the glass and are associated with one or several wedged nut elements (9) which fit over the keys and on tightening the bolt, draw the two plates together and clamp the glass in position. There may be further wedge nuts adjacent the head of the bolt and engaging the opposite faces of the keys.</p> |
