[Also in Divisions C2 and F1] Apparatus for mixing two liquids comprises a pipe 1 having a converging-diverging bore 2, 3, the angle of divergence # not exceeding 15‹, through which one liquid is caused to flow, an annular chamber 5 surrounding the bore to which the other liquid is supplied under pressure, and one or more nozzles 7 leading from the chamber into the bore through which the other liquid is injected, the or each nozzle being arranged so as to direct liquid into the bore at an angleαfrom 30 to 90‹ to the downstream direction of flow of the liquid in the bore and being controlled by a valve having a spindle 10 which seats in the nozzle and which, when fully seated, extends through the nozzle into the bore.</p> |
