The cone-shaped centrifuge drum is produced by spinning from a circular sheet. The drum has a ring groove for delaying fluid of a certain gravity and discharging it through holes in the farthest points of the ring from the centre. The spinning operation is carried out on a solid core (1) which, in places, where the ring groove is required has a triangle-shaped ring (2) fitted to the core with one corner of the triangle projecting beyond the conical surface of the core. The upper edge (7) of the ring groove has an inclination opposite to the inclination of the conical surface in relation to the axis of rotation.
