The production method includes the guiding together of two foil tracks made from thermo-plastic material which are led together offset relative to each other by at least the width of the carrier band and with separating welds with a transverse component being led beyond the overlap area of the foil tracks. This results in producing a double bag band which is then drawn apart by the application of force into two separate bag bands. The foil tracks are welded together into the double bag band along separating welds interrupted for short stretches in the double bag band the sub units which later form the separate bag bands are connected by not yet welded material stays so that the double bag band is wound into a reel.
