Liquid sampler for wells and boreholes - with cylindrical shell lockable by top and bottom closure

A liquid sampler for use in wells and boreholes consists of a cylindrical open-ended shell which is lowered on a flexible element and can be closed on reaching the desired depth. A bottom closure is rigidly joined to the flexible element. The shell and the top closure can be moved relative to each other and to the flexible element. During the lowering operation the top closure and bottom closure are kept at a slight distance from the sealing faces of the shell to allow the liquid to enter the shell. This is a simple tool which causes no turbulence and takes samples exactly in accordance with the existing fluid layers.
