<p>In the installation for transport and distribution, electric self-driven vehicles change track automatically and without interruption at horizontal and/or vertical junctions by means of a set of moving wheels. The wheels are arranged on either side of the rails during running and track changing and the drive is maintained during and after track changing operations. The power supply and the transmission of control signals are maintained during and after track changing operations. The wheels which are arranged on either side of the rails are automatically locked and may be unlocked manually allowing the withdrawal of the transport vehicles from or their introduction into the network them therein. The transport vehicles are provided with active coupling which are used for attaching them to or detaching them from loading supports and/or containers which are activated only at stations and which may be actuated by the vehicle itself and/or as a passive element. The loading support and the containers comprise passive element receiving the coupling members of the vehicle and are provided with wheels allowing the motion thereof on a secondary rail which is independent from the transport rail. The secondary rail is parallel to the transport rail at the location where the coupling or uncoupling takes place. Driven or self-driven driving members, allowing the loading and the unloading of the containers at stations, are provided with hooks, may move on secondary rails separated from the transport rails and may perform, according to their horizontal or vertical position, horizontal or vertical push or pull motions for the loading and unloading of the containers. </p> |
