The invention relates to a roofing tile comprising a ceramic body, having at least two layers (1, 2) of different apparent densities, the structure of the layer (2) corresponding to a conventional body structure layer and the layer (1) being penetrated by macropores. The invention further relates to a process for producing the roofing tile, a pore-forming agent being added to a ceramic composition, said composition being introduced into a mould in layers and being slightly pressed, if appropriate, and the layer comprising the dense-graded ceramic composition then being applied, and this subsequently being fired in the manner which is conventional for ceramics. The layering may also take place conversely.
